SMHB General Meeting 2017

SMHB, which began in 2013, aims for a realistic organ model as a fundamental tool for basic research and (pre-)clinical studies of the human brain and large populations of cells. Key elements are the reconstruction and analysis of the organization of the human brain across multiple scales, as well as its modeling and simulation. The complexity of the human brain poses great challenges on data management, processing and online visualization, thus demanding the integration of neuroscience, cell biology and High Performance Computing (HPC). SMHB, with its innovations in multi-scale modeling and simulation, benefits from new developments in exa-scale supercomputing, and inspires new hardware and software solutions.
